In Coranado (San DIego, CA) there is a very small Petco that used to be a bank. Now the Vault is their fish department. Very Funny!

The Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto is built in a former bank, and in fact the original Stanley Cup is stored inside the vault.

If you have any interest in hockey, it's well worth a trip.

In Tucson, AZ they have a converted bank that is now a Burger King, the vault is on display but not opened probably due to safety concerns with all the kids that visit it.

There are a number of interesting 'old school' styled banks within the UK that have changed purpose over the last 15 or so years. Oh particular note is the former Lloyds bank on Temple Row in Birmingham. Built just after the turn of the century the french inspired architecture was built around the basement that featured numerous vaults, safes - and most interesting to me a bullion drop mechanism - as the bank served as a bullion storage facility.

The main vault with a door some 50cm deep was too heavy to be removed and is still in situ, the vault it protected, concrete and metal lined was of sufficient size to house the buildings large kitchen area (building is now The Old Joint Stock - pub). The bullion drop was a large manually driven cast contraption featuring heavy cogs and wheels to slowly drop the bullion from an in floor trap door on the ground floor.

Unfortunately as this is the 'working' section of the bar, to see you will have to arrange to work there!
